COVID-19 Protocols Updates

This Sunset Sail is casual and very down-to-earth. The 40-ft. catamaran is a very safe and stable sailing vessel that lets you relax and stay dry, without sacrificing the feeling of being close to the ocean. This is not a fancy dinner cruise: No dress codes. No hula dancers. No tiki torches or umbrella-topped daiquiris will be crammed down your throat. Instead, you will enjoy the typical understated North Shore atmosphere of friends getting together to enjoy an evening out on the ocean.
Some of the crew will play the ukulele, but only if you want them to...and no audience participation required - this is a pressure-free sunset sail! You can enjoy nature with your friends and the very friendly crew, or be left in peace to take in the evening glow with your partner...your wish is your crew's command.
Non-alcoholic beverages are provided on this cruise. You are welcome to bring your own favorite adult beverages - your crew will put them on ice for you.
Frequently Asked Questions
How far is Haleiwa from Waikiki? -- It's about 1 hour driving time from Waikiki, via H1 and H2.
Is sailing on a catamaran different than traditional sailing? -- Catamarans are smoother-riding than single hulled vessels. Our 40' catamaran is the perfect size for a Hawaii sailing adventure. The sailing catamaran is Coast Guard certified for 25 passengers, and all tours have a max passenger count of 20. With this intimate group, the crew is able to give customized service to all of passengers.
Can I bring my children with me on my sailing trip? -- Of course! Sailing from Oahu's North Shore is a wonderful family adventure. It is also a FANTASTIC educational experience for all members of the family. The crew does caution parents wanting to bring toddlers and small children under 4 yrs or age, though: The catamaran is very stable, but has open railings and does sway up and down with the waves. Moving about the boat safely requires holding on with at least one hand, which can be hard when holding a small child. Parents MUST be extremely careful and mindful of where their toddlers and/or younger children are at all times while they are on the boat.
Do you provide food and beverages? -- All tours include complimentary non-alcoholic drinks. You may bring your own adult beverages, food or snacks. Please do not bring coolers.
What should I bring on my Oahu sunset sail? -- Please bring a light jacket, your camera and a hat.
Can I get seasick during this trip? -- The catamaran is very stable, but a few people get seasick. If you are prone to motion sickness or have never been on a boat, it would be wise to take a sea sickness preventative at least one hour before the trip. If you aren't sure, just come prepared with a motion sickness remedy, in case you or someone in your party unexpectedly feels unwell.
How far in advance should I book my tour? -- The earlier you book your Oahu whale watching tour, the better. These sorts of cruises tend to sell out quickly!
