This private small group tour takes you to some of the most beautiful and inspiring locations along the Leeward Coast - or, as residents not surprisingly call it, the West Side.  The cultural history of the West Side is ancient and storied but on this tour you'll discover its secret - which is that it is home to some of the most beautiful beaches to be found anywhere in Hawaii.

Your adventure provides an opportunity to take in some of the most spectacular sights on Oahu in comfort and isolation from the COVID-19 pandemic.  It's perfect for visitors new to the island and for repeat visitors who have seen and done much of the most common activities Oahu offers.  Your West Side tour isn't the typical guided tour of familiar attractions but rather provides a journey to out of the way destinations most Oahu visitors never get to see.

Your morning jaunt to the West Side begins with a drive to Disney's Aulani Resort and Spa. At its remarkable taro ponds, you'll learn about the sacred and vital tradition of taro that sustained native Hawaiians for hundreds of years. You'll also be invited to peruse Aulani's exquisitely curated art collection before rounding off this stop with a casual stroll along the beach, meandering through secluded coves for photographs and, often, encounters with green sea turtles, or "honu."

Wave goodbye to the turtles (if you were lucky enough to see some) and head up the coast to Keawa'ula Beach in the vast and remote Yokahama Bay. The beach's name translates to "red bay" and was so named for the schools of squid that call the area home. The West Side features more than just beaches, though, and from here the tour changes and journeys into darkness at the ancient cathedral-like Makua Cave. This legendary location is steeped in tradition and your guide will fill you in on what makes it such a treasured place.

From there, the tour goes to the next level and wraps up your day of sightseeing with visits to two more of the West Side's most prized assets - Makaha Beach and Pokai Bay.  Makaha Beach has long been the home of legendary Hawaiian surfers, featuring a strong rip that creates the high surf but can also make conditions too dangerous for swimming.  Pokai Bay is off the beaten track with calm and clear water that is always ideal for swimming, sunbathing and picnics.
